Custom Foot Orthotics

Foot posture and alignment are the foundation of movement through your entire lower kinetic chain.

Appropriate foot orthotics improve not only foot comfort, but overall lower body health as well.

Elevate Your Feet

Poor foot mechanics not only cause pain in the foot, but also contribute to dysfunction and pain in the knees, hips and lower back. To appropriately assess the effect foot mechanics have on the entire lower kinetic chain, a clinician must first be trained in evaluation of those joints!

That’s where SueB’s comprehensive evaluation sets FootWork apart from other professionals providing foot orthotics. SueB utilizes her physical therapy skills, post graduate training, and 20+ years experience in foot orthotic application to perform the appropriate biomechanical assessment of the foot to the low back. From there, she designs a custom foot orthotic device to achieve the best match for your specific needs.

As Personal as Your Footprint

Unlike most foot orthotic services, SueB conducts a comprehensive static and dynamic evaluation from the waist down to the foot. She does not prescribe based upon “step in the box molding” or computer images. As a foot and lower kinetic chain specialist, SueB’s comprehensive evaluation includes:

  • Gait analysis

  • Establishing your foot type

  • Identifying forefoot and rearfoot deviations

  • Exploring how your foot mechanics influence “up the chain”

  • Education in appropriate shoes based on your foot type

This all leads to the creation of a truly custom foot orthotic that works.

“I developed an excruciatingly painful case of plantar fasciitis in my left foot never experienced before throughout many years of sports, running and hiking. SueB’s magic and a pair of custom insoles had me back on the trail 30 days later. I am forever grateful for her professionalism and expertise. She’s truly the best in the west.”

Why FootWork?

As SueB gained experience as a practicing clinician in Durango, the influence of foot alignment on force attenuation through both the foot and lower kinetic chain into the spine became even more apparent to her. Although manual skills and exercise therapy can influence these issues, often foot dysfunction needs to be externally addressed.

Frustrated by the lack of a comprehensive approach to custom foot orthotic therapy for her patients, SueB pursued specific orthotic creation training. She has been designing quality custom foot orthotics since 2001, and founded FootWork in 2012.
